Why your role matters
As a Senior People Operations Specialist, you play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient people-related processes across the company. From managing employee records to supporting payroll, benefits, and compliance, you help create a seamless experience for our employees globally. You will be responsible for day-to-day operations, assisting with the administration of onboarding and offboarding while ensuring compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
This role offers a mix of operational responsibilities and project-based improvements, making it ideal for someone who enjoys streamlining processes, supporting employees, and working on initiatives that enhance the workplace. You will work independently while receiving support from the People Operations Manager when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Onboarding: Ensure a great onboarding experience for all new joiners , with all aspects of onboarding completed accurately and timely.
Compliant Employee Life Cycle: Document, implement, and improve (repeat!) perform operational tasks such as data entry, transactionalprocessing, contract amendments , and all other changes needed.
Continuous improvement: Conduct regular reviews around optimization and scalability, finding ways to make the tasks of the People Operations team more efficient.
People Connect: Provide employees at all levels exceptional services regarding their People-related inquiries through PersonioConversations or other channels with a high-resolution accountability
Collaborate with Employment Solutions Partners (Such as Employer of Record Services and Relocation Agencies), fostering a close relationship between vendor and employee/contractor to ensure high quality service delivery
Ensure a positive onboarding experience whereby all aspects of onboarding are completed accurately and timely
What success looks like in the first year
The People Operations team runs efficiently, supporting employees with minimal friction.
HR processes are streamlined, reducing manual work and improving accuracy.
Employees feel well-supported, contributing to a positive work environment.
Compliance and record-keeping are up to date and audit-ready.
Process-oriented and operational solutions are implemented, improving the employee experience
Experience: 5+ years in a People Operations or HR role, with knowledge of labor laws, compliance, and employee lifecycle management.
Problem-Solving & Operational Skills: Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Hands-on experience with payroll support (preparing payroll input), benefits administration, and HRIS systems (e.g., AFAS, Personio, or similar).
Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift in an occasionally ambiguous environment
Communication & Collaboration: Great people skills to handle employee questions and work with different teams, with clear and effective communication at all levels of the company.
Confidentiality & Compliance: Able to handle sensitive information responsibly while staying compliant with Dutch and international labor laws, always acting with integrity.
Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Other languages are a plus
Location & Work Permit: You're based in the Netherlands, have a valid EU work permit, and happy to be in the office two days a week.
Availability: Open to working fulltime.
