Senior Product Owner - 10 Months Contract

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner with deep expertise in asbestos regulations, remediation, and inventories. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership in guiding ICT and administrative processes within complex political and regulatory environments. This role requires strong stakeholder management, decisiveness, and the ability to translate legislative requirements into practical ICT solutions that support asbestos inventories and remediation efforts at both the national and European levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Ownership & Strategy
• Define and manage the product vision and roadmap for ICT solutions supporting asbestos inventories and remediation.
• Ensure alignment of product goals with Ministry objectives, legislation, and national/European asbestos regulations.
• Translate political and administrative requirements into clear product backlogs, user stories, and actionable tasks.
• Stakeholder & Domain Expertise
• Act as subject matter expert (SME) on asbestos legislation, inventories, and remediation processes.
• Collaborate with government agencies, employers, employees, professionals, and the Dutch Labour Inspectorate.
• Address political and administrative sensitivities, providing pragmatic and sustainable solutions.
• Agile & Delivery
• Lead product development using Agile methodologies (Scrumwise, Agile working).
• Prioritize backlog items, ensuring efficient delivery of high-value features.
• Work closely with development teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation.
• Process & Implementation
• Guide the progress and implementation of administrative processes within the asbestos field.
• Translate complex regulatory frameworks into concrete ICT workflows, tools, and activities.
• Monitor and report on progress, risks, and deliverables to stakeholders and Ministry leadership.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: University-level working and thinking capacity (Master’s preferred).
• Experience:
• At least 7 years of proven experience as a Product Owner in ICT and/or regulatory environments.
• Demonstrated affinity and hands-on knowledge of the asbestos domain, including inventories, remediation, and compliance requirements.
• Deep familiarity with national and European asbestos legislation and regulations.
• Experience with political and administrative issues in the asbestos or regulatory domain.
• Experience with Scrumwise and Agile working methodologies.
• Proven track record in translating administrative processes into ICT solutions.
