Job Description - ServiceNow Technical Consultant

Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled ServiceNow Technical Consultant to design and implement solutions on the ServiceNow platform. You will collaborate with business analysts, functional consultants, and clients to deliver technical solutions that meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and shape the technical architecture of the ServiceNow platform, supporting complex development approaches.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor and expert.
  • Implement functionalities to meet customer requirements using both front-end and back-end capabilities of ServiceNow.
  • Develop integrations between ServiceNow and external systems (cloud or on-premise), such as SSO, SAP, and other ITSM applications, using technologies like SOAP, REST, JDBC, and LDAP.
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation.

Working Relationships:

  • Collaborate with solution consultants, business analysts, project managers, architects, and technical consultants.
  • Work closely with client stakeholders including product owners, subject matter experts, architects, developers, IT staff, and ServiceNow support teams.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant work experience within the ServiceNow platform (GRC/IRM, ITOM, HRSD, SecOps, or other modules).
  • Experience consulting and delivering solutions to external customers.
  • Knowledge of ITSM and agile frameworks, including DevOps, IT4IT, and ITIL.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience across the full software development lifecycle—from requirements analysis to design, testing, and deployment.
  • Experience in system performance analysis and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with multiple ServiceNow modules and technical implementations.
  • Proficiency in web technologies including JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, and AngularJS in the context of ServiceNow.
  • Strong scripting skills in ServiceNow Client Scripts, Business Rules, UI Policies, Access Controls, Validation Scripts, and background scripts.
  • Expertise in configuring tables, forms, lists, reports, workflows, email notifications, and managing platform data.
  • Experience creating test plans, test scripts, test cases, and generating defect reports.

Personal Skills and Qualities:

  • Fluent in Dutch and English; proficiency in another European language is a plus.
  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and adapt to changing contexts.
  • Curious, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
  • Capable of taking initiative and working independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially in problem-solving with clients.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
