Shortwave Engineer (lead)

We’re looking for a strong Shortwave Engineer with deep experience in non-traditional communication channels (e.g., shortwave radio, microwave, free-space optics) and strong FPGA and systems engineering background

Responsibilities

• Design and implementation of high-performance communication systems using shortwave, microwave, or laser technologies (must have deep expertise in at least two of these areas)
• Development and tuning of FPGA-based solutions to accelerate signal processing and network handling
• Selection and integration of telecom hardware, site planning, and signal routing
• Lead and mentor a small team of engineers, manage technical projects and delivery timelines
• Collaborate with external telecom vendors and internal infrastructure teams
• Define long-term strategy for low-latency communication architecture

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in top-tier HFT firms (Tier-1) working on ultra-low-latency infrastructure
• Proven hands-on expertise with shortwave radio, microwave, and/or free-space optical (laser) communication technologies
• 5+ years of FPGA development background and understanding of low-level network optimization
• Deep technical background is essential
• Strong project and team management skills, including experience hiring and leading technical teams
• Well-connected in the telecom infrastructure community (preferred)
