Software Development Group Lead

I am looking for experienced software engineering managers who can be interested in joining my client in Eindhoven, Netherlands, as Software Development Group Lead.

This is a hybrid role but you need to live close to Eindhoven.

My client's mission is to develop and manufacture high-tech modules and systems in high-end equipment. Your department is responsible for development of these mechatronic modules and systems, for production for one of their factories. Embedded software is of increasing importance for the systems that they develop. They plan to move into the latest and greatest technologies for software development and engineering fully connecting to its system development process.

In this role, you will primarily:

• Manage and inspire a team of professionals with drive to improve, grow and explore new areas of expertise. Their software development team is a mix of talented young professionals, in-depth experts, competence owners, and software architects.
• Drive customer and competence projects to fulfill the software development roadmap, working closely with the other competence groups.
• Convince your stakeholders of your technological choices and engage them in the software development activities and decisions.

You will also be ultimately responsible for the review and release of software deliverables. You will assign the project staff to the project managers. In this position, you work with project managers, group leads and engineers from other competence groups. 

The company's international customers (Semicon, Solar, Medical) operate in high-tech environments and the projects involved can vary within these industries. You will maintain contacts with existing and new customers to ensure product quality and way of working on new technologies. Furthermore, you will be responsible for
competency growth and recruitment of your group. 

You have: 

• Professional leadership and management skills combined with a detailed eye for competence improvement.
• Ambition to manage and coach your team of engineers to excel as a team in delivering quality software solutions. 
• Keen eye for the latest technologies and a drive to use them in projects. 
• Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in a leading position in a high-end multidisciplinary development environment.
• Pro-active, analytical, creative personality with a can-do mentality.
• Good communication skills verbal and written in English and Dutch.
• Experience with requirements management, Agile development and reliability engineering.
