Introduction to the job

As a Team lead internal control at ASML, you play a central role in defining, implementing, and improving the internal control methodology that underpins risk mitigation and regulatory compliance across the company. Your work ensures that internal control frameworks are well-designed, uniform and of high quality, scalable, and consistently applied across sectors and business functions.

You contribute to the development of training materials, tooling strategy, and Internal Control over Regulatory Compliance (ICRC) community support - translating control design principles into actionable practices for the 1st and 2nd line of responsibility. You give training on IC methodology and tooling to sectors and compliance areas.

You play a pivotal role in monitoring the execution of internal controls within the first line, ensuring regular progress reporting that communicates status updates to senior leadership, and driving the execution of key projects within the Internal Control department.

Role and responsibilities

Your responsibilities include managing and monitor ASML’s Internal Control frameworks, methodology and guidance. Other than that, you:

• Provide ICRC reporting to Risk and Internal Control Councils (RICCs) and Compliance and Regulatory Risk Committee (CRRC).

• Manage or contribute to the ICRC tooling and reporting functionality.

• Build training material about internal control and related process steps, including providing training to compliance and business teams.

• Assist ICRC experts with control design, monitoring, effectiveness testing, and status reporting.

• Ensure execution and continuous improvement of internal control strategy, monitoring and roadmap.

Education and experience

To succeed in this role, you bring:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., accounting, (internal) audit, compliance, risk).

• Experience in internal control, (internal) audit, regulatory compliance.

• Experience designing and embedding internal control frameworks in complex business environments.

• Experience in setting up an Internal control methodology and implementing in the business

• Familiarity with control methodology tooling, reporting, training development, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Expertise in internal control principles, frameworks, and methodologies.

• Ability to translate complex regulatory or business requirements into practical control designs and methodology.

• Solid stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality and consistency.

• Ability to coach, train, or lead depending on grade.

• Skilled in leading project-based methodology implementations in large corporate companies.

Other information

As part of the internal control management team, you set direction for internal control methodology and tooling at an enterprise level. You manage a team, lead cross-sector improvements, and shape the IC strategy. You represent the IC function with senior leadership and drive the continuous development of the internal control discipline within ASML
