Technical Writer at Adyen

Do you enjoy working on the nitty gritty, but also looking at the bigger picture? Do you love to break down complex text into easy to understand content? Are you able to shift focus and tone according to different audiences? We are looking for a Technical Writer to join the team who can understand the technical details and can write documentation for developers interested in integrating with our APIs or SDKs.

You will be part of our Payments development team, based in Amsterdam. Here, you will get familiar with and work on the payment industry's most advanced and robust platform.

What You’ll Do

• Write technical documentation for our external developer audience, such as API reference docs and developer guides;


• Deliver clear and concise documentation in simple and easy-to-read English;


• Conceptualize and implement solutions to automate and actively optimize our docs;


• Collaborate with team members to drive best practices, information architecture, design, and layout;


• Review, challenge, and copy edit the content created by writers and non-writers;

Who You Are

• You have at least 3+ years of experience in technical/developer documentation;


• You have experience with docs-as-code (git, markdown);


• You enjoy working together with developers and product managers to deliver quality documentation;


• You can write conceptual documentation, detailed integration guides, code samples, API reference, and other online materials in a clear and concise manner;


• You communicate and collaborate well with people from diverse backgrounds;


• You are proactive and you like to take ownership and responsibility; 


• You are a team player with the ability to challenge the status quo and determined to influence content, user experience, and tooling;


• Experience developing with programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, PHP, Ruby, or others is a plus;


• Fintech experience is a plus.

This vacancy is based in our Amsterdam office. We have a hybrid workplace and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.
