Job Description - Technology Strategy Manager

Optiver’s technology teams build and run the systems that power our trading every day. 


As Tech Strategy Manager you will partner closely with the Tech COO and Optiver’s broader tech leadership to shape the firm’s technology strategy. You’ll work at the intersection of strategic thinking, cutting edge technology and execution coordination to help deliver the ambitious growth strategy of Optiver.



What you’ll do



  • Drive firm-wide tech strategy initiatives from framing to executive decision across a broad range of topics such as:

    • location strategy for tech teams

    • org design for scaling engineering

    • approach to driving AI adoption across tech teams



  • Support senior tech leadership in the preparation of and delivery of board and executive-level materials

  • Organize and lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts with senior engineers, tech leaders, traders

  • Work closely with the Tech COO and leads in the CTO Office to deliver against current priorities across Tech PMO, Tech Risk Management, Tech Finance, Tech Talent and Innovation

  • Act as a strategic sparring partner to global Tech Leads


 


Who you are



  • Analytical and data-driven: you can find insight in complexity and separate the signal from the noise

  • Conceptual and strategic: you see the system, not just the symptom – distilling complex dynamics into clear, actional insights

  • Comfortable with ambiguity: You thrive in ambiguous, high-stakes problem spaces with incomplete information

  • Strong communicator: clear, concise, assertive when needed; confident across written, verbal and boardroom settings. You’re comfortable challenging senior stakeholders with well-reasoned perspectives.

  • Experience that helps:

    • Management consulting, technology or trading background

    • 5+ years of experience in a fast-moving, high-performance environment, e.g., Tier 1 consulting (MBB), Tier 1 investment banking (Goldman, JPM) or leading PE firms
