What you’ll be doing

At AssistiveWare, our users are at the center of our product design and advocacy work. Our work is informed by the science of learning and grounded in the latest research and clinical insights from the fields of AAC and language development. We support initiatives that raise awareness about AAC and promote inclusion. We often join forces and offer the microphone to self-advocates, so their important message can reach more people.

As the UX Writer for AssistiveWare, you will focus on crafting user-friendly, user interface text and messages in line with our tone & voice for all products and services. You will strive to ensure seamless mobile and web experiences, which reflect the company’s brand, values and tone, by working with all Product and Services teams as well as the Marketing and Communications team. 

Working closely with Product Managers and UX designers to understand the context of design problems is an important aspect of the role. This partnership will allow you to create, improve and iterate on designs from a UX writing perspective, delivering the best possible user experience.

Reporting to the Director of UX, you will collaborate with the UX and UI designers on processes, ways of working, and aligning the work to maintain consistency between our products. Your work will also include setting up and maintaining UX writing principles and guidelines for our products and services. Our multi-disciplinary product teams follow the Kanban agile product development process.

• 3-5 years experience in UX Writing or a related role
• Based in the Netherlands and fluent in written and spoken English (proficiency in other languages a plus)
• A relevant academic degree
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and working according to a design thinking approach
• Experience with lean and agile approach in a user-centered environment
• Capable and comfortable with shifting between big picture thinking and fine-tuning details
