We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced VAT Specialist to join our team in Amsterdam. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring Under Armour’s compliance with Spanish VAT regulations, including the Suministro Inmediato de Información (SII) reporting requirements, preparing, and submitting VAT returns, and providing strategic advice to the business. This role is critical in managing VAT obligations efficiently and minimizing risks associated with non-compliance.

Your Impact

  • VAT Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Spanish VAT laws and regulations. Prepare and submit accurate and timely VAT returns, Intrastat declarations, and other required filings.
  • SII Reporting: Manage the Suministro Inmediato de Información (SII) process, ensuring that all transactional data is reported to the Spanish tax authorities in real-time as required.
  • Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all VAT-related documents, including invoices, receipts, and transactions.
  • VAT Advisory: Provide expert advice on VAT matters to internal stakeholders. Support the business in understanding and applying Spanish VAT rules to various transactions.
  • Audit Support: Assist with VAT audits and inquiries from tax authorities. Prepare documentation and liaise with auditors to resolve any issues.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in VAT processes and systems to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Reporting: Prepare and analyze VAT reports for management, highlighting trends, issues, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure integrated and compliant business processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in VAT compliance, preferably with a focus on Spanish VAT regulations and SII reporting.
  • In-depth knowledge of Spanish VAT laws and regulations, including SII requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in SAP, Tableau, Excel.
  • Experience with VAT reporting and compliance software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English, Spanish is desirable
  • Experience in the retail or apparel industry.
  • Previous experience working in a multinational corporation.

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Amsterdam  office.
  • Return to Work Designation: Hybrid work (baseline of minimum 2 days a week in-office.
