Workshop and Repair Specialist

As a Workshop and Repair Specialist, you will be the technical backbone of our Amsterdam hub. This is not your average bike mechanic role - you will handle everything from high-profile PR preparations and advanced technical diagnostics to critical quality control and warranty claim assessments. You will work closely with our global supply chain, partners, and internal departments to ensure our e-bikes meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and craftsmanship.

What you’ll do

• Perform quality control inspections on newly arrived e-bikes, ensuring they meet VanMoof's safety and performance standards.


• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex hardware and software issues escalated by retail and service partners.


• Maintain, repair, and optimize the staff and test-ride fleet to ensure bikes are always in top condition.


• Prepare bikes for PR events, media campaigns, and marketing shoots, ensuring they are both visually and mechanically flawless.


• Test returned and faulty components, document diagnostic findings, and support engineering with product improvement insights.


• Evaluate warranty claims using technical diagnostics and make informed approval or rejection decisions.


• Inspect, process, and disassemble returned bikes and accessories for refurbishment, parts recovery, failure analysis, or recycling.


• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workshop by managing tools, parts, and overall workspace standards.
  
  

What you'll bring:

• Experience working with technical products (experience with e-bikes is a plus!)


• Experience testing software, working with internal applications and diagnostic tools


• A strong work ethic and a proactive attitude


• Excellent organizational and administrative skills


• The ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies


• Strong problem-solving skills


• Fluency in English (Dutch, German, or French is a plus)


• Availability to work onsite 5 days a week
