Do you want to contribute to our joint mission: a better world? As a Java developer this is possible by developing and improving applications for the lotteries. Gerben Schepers, Java Developer at the Lottery since January: “In the past nine months I already had the opportunity to work with multiple teams, including an international team with multiple disciplines. Together we work on reusable elements, such as a design system and various services for all our Lotteries at home and abroad. We run everything serverless via AWS and can therefore fully focus on the business logic instead of management. Because of all the learning opportunities and the good atmosphere, I feel completely at home here.” This is what you will do: As a member of the scrum team, you work daily on the development and optimization of our lottery systems. You work in one of the backend scrum teams, which works closely with other scrum teams and departments of the lottery. You consult with the Solution architect(s) about technical and operational aspects. Your future department: The Data Service department is the backbone of the organization. We develop and manage the Lottery applications and the entire IT infrastructure. We ensure that all IT works. We work together in multidisciplinary teams to continuously improve our IT landscape. We are always looking for innovative possibilities and new techniques to make our IT better, faster and more efficient. Continuity, reliability and safety are paramount in everything we do: we maintain a margin of error of 0 in processes for the sale of lots, collections, draws and payment of prizes.

With project visits, presentations in our Auditorium, during the Christmas breakfast and the annual Goed Geld Gala where all the organizations we support are present. - We work in one of the most sustainably renovated buildings in the Netherlands, within walking distance of Amsterdam Zuid station. More than 100 colleagues contributed ideas about the design and sustainable solutions during the development. As a result, it is now a place for all of us. Our house. We encourage everyone to travel by public transport. That is why you will also receive an NS Business Card with which you can also travel for free throughout the Netherlands outside working hours. About your future employer: The Postcode Lottery Group is an international marketing driven organization with a social purpose: we organize lotteries to raise money for a fairer, greener and healthier world. Our concept creates a win-win situation: participants of the Postcode Lottery win great prizes and charities receive money. Since 1989, our participants have raised more than €12 billion for hundreds of charities. That makes us the third largest private donor to charities in the world. Together with more than 1,500 colleagues in the Netherlands, Sweden, Great Britain, Germany and Norway, you contribute to a better world every day!
