We are looking for a VAT Compliance Officer to join the Corporate Tax Department.

How will you contribute to the success of DHL?

The Corporate Tax department is responsible for all corporate income and indirect (transactional) tax matters within DPDHL. Global responsibilities are addressed by International Taxes and Indirect Taxes, whereas regional responsibilities are organized by area, led by Regional Heads. You will be working within a global network of Corporate Tax colleagues and as part of the Global VAT Compliance team, you'll fulfill all VAT requirements. In your role, your main accountability is to Assist the VAT Compliance team in fulfulling all VAT requirements with respect to:
- Domestic VAT returns
- Domestic Sales and Purchase Listing
- Foreign VAT Claims
- VAT refunds of foreign VAT registrations

Other key tasks are:

• Prepare domestic VAT returns for a number of entities as per indicated portfolio
• Prepare Sales and Purchase listings for the entities in the indicated portfolio
• Prepare foreign VAT reconciliations and foreign VAT reclaims
• File the reviewed VAT return all relevant listings before deadlines
• Reconcile the VAT account to the VAT returns and review VAT reconciliation to VAT revenue figures
• Prepare/analyze data for auditors/Tax authorities in case of audit queries
• Follow up on actions and queries regarding the prepared VAT returns (error list maintenance)
• Support in onboarding new scope/new countries to SSC VAT Compliance team
• Build and maintain contacts within team, within CD 66 Corporate Tax, SSC Maastricht/Bahrain/Mauritius and Business Units to communicate on items concerning your responsible area

Do you have what it takes?

You have a educational background in Accounting or TAX and you have a solid background of VAT knowledge. You know how to apply your theoretical knowledge into practice. Preferably you have 1-2 years of experience in finance accounting or in a similar role!

Key abilities we are looking for:

• Strong analytical and communication skills;
• Ability to work independently;
• You have an eye for detail and you work accurate;
• Knowledge of ERP systems like Oracle, SAP or SUN are a plus;
• Excellent Microsoft knowledge;
• Experience in financial accounting processes within OtC, RtR, PtPand IC and financial accounting for taxes;
• Excellent command of the English language.
