Position Summary

The BESS Service Engineer Intern will support the Service team in the execution of operational and technical activities associated with utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The role focuses on maintenance planning, OEM support coordination, spare parts management, stakeholder engagement, technical documentation, and service operations. The internship is designed to provide practical experience in utility-scale energy storage service operations while developing technical and operational knowledge within a fast-growing renewable energy industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Service team in the management of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) service activities.
• Assist in scheduling preventive and reactive maintenance activities, follow up with Service Partners and OEMs, and track completion of maintenance actions.
• Support the spare parts ordering process, including initiation of requests, tracking deliveries, and ensuring parts are delivered to the correct project site.
• Create and submit technical support requests to OEMs under the guidance of the Service team, gather the required technical information and documentation, and follow up on open actions to ensure timely responses and resolution.
• Maintain accurate service documentation, work order records, maintenance reports, and customer-related records within Fluence systems.
• Support tracking of site outages, maintenance activities, availability events, warranty claims, and service actions.
• Assist Service Managers and the Service team with the preparation of service reports, maintenance plans, customer updates, and operational reviews.
• Perform basic troubleshooting activities under supervision and follow established troubleshooting procedures to support issue investigation and resolution.
• Develop a basic understanding of Battery Energy Storage System components, architecture, operating procedures, and technical documentation.
• Review and interpret basic technical documentation, including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), site layouts, operating procedures, manuals, and maintenance documentation.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery activities and drive actions to closure.
• Participate in site visits, maintenance activities, and customer meetings as part of professional development and learning.

Required Qualifications

• Currently studying towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with little or no prior professional experience.
• Strong interest in renewable energy, battery energy storage systems, and service operations.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and engineering principles.
• Ability to understand and interpret basic technical documentation and drawings.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and digital business tools.
• Driver's license is an advantage.
