Business Administration | Computer Science internship: tool development for finance

Introduction

The Business Insights & Control department in Veldhoven connects financial reporting with decision-making across ASML. The OPEX and FTE analytics team supports finance partners with clear insights and efficient processes. This internship focuses on improving how budgets are updated using data and smart solutions. You will help modernize reporting by combining analytics, automation, and user-friendly tools. Your assignment

In this internship, your main focus will be supporting a project to improve the process and tooling of updating the operational expenditure budget. You will work on solutions that increase efficiency, consistency, and data quality for finance users. Your work will directly support better insights and decision-making in the processes to adjust the budget of the organization. 

If time permits you will also be included by the team in other improvements or processes.   
 

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Design and improve a budget update process using data-driven methods

• Support development of tools that simplify financial planning activities

• Analyze existing workflows and identify improvement opportunities

• Collaborate with finance stakeholders to understand user needs

• Validate data quality and ensure consistency across reports

• Test solutions and gather feedback to refine results

• Document processes and provide clear user guidance
   

This is a non‑thesis internship with a duration of minimum of 6 months, starting in early August 2026.
 

Your profile

To be suitable for the internship, you:

• Are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, computer science, data science, or a related field

• Have experience working with spreadsheets, data analysis, or reporting tools

• Show interest in finance and business processes

• Are analytical, proactive, and able to work with structured data

• Communicate clearly in English, both written and spoken

Other requirements you need to meet:

• You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;

• Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;

• You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter needs to include the willingness to relocate.

• If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
