Financial Budgeting Intern

Job Description - Financial Budgeting Intern

Internship at a Glance

Start Date: From August 1st onwards
Duration: 6 months, ideally
Compensation: this is a paid internship

Are you a detail-driven, analytical student with a passion for finance and real estate? We’re looking for a smart and enthusiastic Financial Budgeting Intern to join our Amsterdam team. You’ll be part of a young, dynamic team, working alongside colleagues from all over the world. You’ll be part of the Financial Budgeting team that creates and delivers strategic insights about the business to the leadership team and the Blackstone Real Estate Europe Finance team.

Working at Mileway

Mileway is Europe’s leading owner and manager of last-mile logistics real estate, operating across more than 11 countries with a team of over 550 professionals in more than twenty offices. We provide high-quality urban logistics space that enables businesses to store, distribute and deliver goods closer to their customers.

Our portfolio focuses on strategically located warehouses and distribution assets that support the growing demand for efficient, city-focused supply chains. With a cloud-based IT infrastructure and strong local market expertise, Mileway combines pan-European scale with on-the-ground knowledge.

We are an international and collaborative organisation, bringing together colleagues from over 50 nationalities. Our culture is pragmatic, fast-moving and team-oriented, with a strong focus on ownership and delivery.

At Mileway, we foster a continuous learning environment through our in-house learning and development programmes, supporting both professional and personal development. You’ll be based at our Amsterdam office. While we embrace a flexible approach to work, our policy requires working from the office three days a week.

What you’ll do

  • Be part of the Financial Budgeting Team, analyzing and forecasting our portfolio.

  • Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts and create cash flow reports. Execute planning and forecasting cycles, liaising with all cross-functional teams.

  • Perform ad-hoc in-depth asset and portfolio-level analysis (leasing, occupancy, capex, NOI, etc.) and prepare high-quality reporting on past, current and projected performance.

  • Assist in IT Finance Transformation projects (rollout of financial tools, automation, BI reporting) across multiple countries in the portfolio.

  • Prepare financial presentations and other projects requested by the Financial Budgeting Manager and senior management.

  • Learn the systems used to manage and track the portfolio performance (Yardi, PowerApps, Power BI, OneStream, etc.).

What you’ll bring

  • Your education: You must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Data Analytics or a related field. We are looking for a candidate who is enrolled as a full-time student (40 hours a week) for the duration of the internship and is living and authorized to work in the Netherlands. This internship cannot be used as part of a thesis or an academic research submission.

  • Strong analytical skills: You’re analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with data — Excel is a must, and familiarity with PowerPoint and Teams is a plus.

  • You are highly organized and deadline-driven and can manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

  • A great team attitude: You are team player, highly motivated and friendly.

  • Your energy: You’re a hands-on self-starter who works confidently and independently. You’re not afraid to jump in and get things done. You bring ideas that add value.

  • Your curiosity: You’re curious about how reward strategies can drive business success and employee engagement.

Good to Know Before You Apply

Just a few important things to keep in mind before you apply:

  • Unfortunately, we can’t provide visa sponsorship. You’ll need to have citizenship of the country where the role is based or EU citizenship.

  • This internship can’t be used as part of a thesis, and Mileway information can’t be used for academic work, even if the company name isn’t mentioned.

  • You’ll need to be enrolled at your University for the entire duration of the internship (around 6 months),  and get credits out of this internship.
