Job Description - Internship Business Developer NAUTIS

Are you a driven, curious, and proactive student with an affinity for complex technologies? Join VSTEP as a Business Development Intern for our NAUTIS product, where you'll dive into the earliest stages of the sales cycle — think smart lead generation, qualification, CRM optimization, and opportunity nurturing. You won’t just be learning — you’ll be growing into a future maritime sales leader.

In short, as a Business Development Intern you will get the chance to work on:
  • Research and identify new cold leads; qualify and distribute to the relevant Business Developer. 
  • Develop and maintain structured lead lists to keep generating and funnelling throughout the team.
  • Support CRM optimization by identifying workflow improvements and helping with dashboard/report creation.
  • Assist in crafting and executing first outreach steps (email/phone) for new opportunities.
  • Join Business Developers in market research, early-stage tender analysis, and pipeline growth activities and maybe on some trips
  • Support our marketing and commercial teams with content, outreach campaigns, and event prep.
  • Help build systems that support future sales success and make the sales process smoother.
You are:

  • Looking for an internship position or graduation project as part of you education or studies.
  •  A 3rd or 4th year bachelor’s student in Business, Sales, Marketing, Maritime Management, or related field in the Netherlands.
  • Curious, proactive, and ready to learn — no fear of cold outreach or structured research.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using CRM systems and digital tools.
  • Positive: able to see opportunities around every corner.
  • A team player who is driven, passionate and motivated.
  • A strong listener, eager to understand customer needs and team workflows.
  • Living in the Netherlands and willing to work on-site.

You have:
  • A proactive mindset towards sales and business development.
  • The desire to grow into a high-performing commercial role.
  • The ability to communicate fluently and professionally in English. Other languages? Even better.
  • A passion for working with data, tools, and real clients.
  • The ability to see opportunity in every lead and conversation.
  • A drive to combine interesting research with hands-on experience.
