Tilburg University | Academic Services | TLC – TUNED IN

Is looking for an enthusiastic and curious student assistant to help co-create conceptual learning dashboards that give students insight into their own use of AI, as part of a TUNED IN project.

Your role

As a student assistant, you will work closely with an educational innovator from Tilburg School of Behavioral Sciences (TSB) to co-develop several draft dashboards that give students insight into their own prompting and learning behaviour. The aim is to help students better understand their own learning process, identify personal strengths and points for improvement, and navigate their own path in developing both human- and AI-literacy skills. These draft dashboards will later serve as input and inspiration for the Tilburg.AI team, who will look to build them into the Tilburg.AI environment.

Your tasks will include:

  • Co-drafting dashboards and iterating on them

  • Literature research: investigating emerging research on AI in education and discussing the most important findings

  • Organising focus groups with students: evaluating students' needs and wishes in their learning process, and the role of AI therein

  • Engaging in meetings with colleagues from Tilburg.AI: presenting and/or discussing dashboards in progress to align needs, expectations and technical feasibility

  • Engaging in weekly discussions with the educational innovator: brainstorming and discussing ideas around the dashboards, as well as discussing relevant insights from literature research and focus groups

By the end of the project, you and the educational innovator deliver a set of draft learning dashboards, grounded in established learning principles and research, that serve as conceptual and practical inspiration for the Tilburg.AI team.

Your profile

You have a background in psychology, behavioural or cognitive sciences, digital humanities, educational technology, AI and society, or a related field. Extensive technical or software skills are not required; the project focuses on evaluation design and pedagogical usefulness.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Interest in personal development, human skills, AI, and education

  • Skills in literature review and a basic understanding of research methods

  • The ability to work independently, combined with enthusiasm for co-creating and collaborating

  • The ability to ethically reflect on the use of generative AI tools

  • Curiosity, openness to new ideas, and creativity

  • A willingness and care to make education better for other students

  • Mastery of Dutch language is no requirement

Our offer

Tilburg University offers excellent employment conditions in a pleasant working environment:

  • A position of 1 day (approx. 8 hours) per week, for a duration of 3–4 months (possible period September–November/December 2026).

  • Weekly or biweekly supervision meetings, with day-to-day supervision provided by TSB.

The salary is a minimum of € 3084 and a maximum of – € 3141 gross per month based on full-time employment, based on UFO profile Student Assistant of the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities, depending on relevant education and work experience. Tilburg University applies a neutral salary-scale system based on relevant education and work experience.
