Business Unit Subsea Cables

Boskalis has an unparalleled track record in subsea cable installation. We have successfully installed more than 5,000 km of export and array cables with our own fleet of cable lay and trenching vessels, barges and advanced support equipment.

Imagine that you are part of a team that executes various international and ‘one of a kind’ projects, such as:

• Hollandse Kust West Beta with a contract scope that comprises the installation of two 65-kilometer-long export cables that will connect the planned Hollandse Kust West Beta 700 MW offshore wind farm to TenneT’s onshore grid in the Netherlands.
• Baltic II, with a project scope that comprises the transportation and installation of 107 array cables with a total length of more than 150 kilometers in addition to four 275 kV export cables with a total combined length of nearly 300 kilometers.

In this Internship you will

As an intern within the project engineering team you are responsible for the engineering of our Offshore Subsea Cables projects and designs - within the requirements (safety, quality, time, budget, legal requirements, regulations and other) and in compliance with client/ contract agreements. This includes management of engineering scopes, if necessary, making use of external engineering suppliers. During project preparation phase, you make sure any interface between engineering disciplines (Geo, Production, marine), operations and QHSE is covered. You act as technical conscience throughout the complete lifecycle of projects.

Your qualities

• You are doing a HBO or university bachelor or master program in the Netherlands in Civil engineering, Marine engineering, Offshore Engineering or Mechanical engineering;
• Strong communication skills in English.

• You show commitment and active engagement with projects and teams, while on the other hand you are self-reliant and capable of working independently.
