About the opportunity

Backend development is your strong suit. You’re highly technical, enjoy building reliable systems, and communicate effectively with the people around you.

As a software engineering intern or trainee, you’ll help develop the applications, databases, and infrastructure that support our business. You’ll work alongside our technical team and collaborate with our Business Development Representatives (BDRs) and leadership.

You’ll contribute to real projects, take ownership of defined tasks with guidance, and help improve how our business operates. We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us beyond their internship or traineeship.

What you’ll do

• Build and improve backend services and internal tools using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Develop REST APIs and webhooks to connect systems and automate workflows.
• Work with PostgreSQL databases, including data modelling, SQL queries, and data integrity.
• Help deploy and maintain applications using Google Cloud and Docker.
• Test, debug, document, and review code to improve reliability and maintainability.
• Contribute to secure authentication, access management, and system configuration.
• Develop interfaces using React and Tailwind CSS when projects require it.
• Coordinate with the technical team, BDR team, and leadership to understand needs, agree on priorities, and deliver improvements.
• Share timely updates, flag blockers early, and follow through on agreed actions.

You don’t need to have mastered every tool. You should bring strong programming skills, practical backend experience, and a strong willingness to step in identify gaps and work independently.

Who you are

• You’re studying or have recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field—or can demonstrate equivalent practical skills.
• Backend development is your strongest area, with projects or work experience to demonstrate it.
• You have practical experience with TypeScript or JavaScript and understand server-side development.
• You understand SQL, relational databases, HTTP, and APIs.
• You’re comfortable using Git and can debug, evaluate, and improve your code.
• You care about security, reliability, and building systems that others can maintain.
• You take initiative, follow through on commitments, and ask for input when needed.
• You welcome feedback, support your colleagues, and enjoy working towards ambitious shared goals.

Experience with Google Cloud, Docker, automated testing, networking, or authentication is a plus. If you use AI coding tools, you should understand and validate their output.

Communication across teams matters

You’ll work with the technical team, BDR team, and leadership. You need to keep people aligned on priorities, manage expectations, coordinate handovers, and make sure decisions lead to clear next steps.

Don’t simply tell us you’re a strong communicator—show us. Be ready to share concrete examples of how you coordinated with different teams, handled competing priorities, or kept work moving. Describe your contribution and quantify the outcome where possible, such as time saved, faster handovers, or fewer missed deadlines.
