Job Description - Student Intern - Research Programs Data Analyst

Job description

Hematologic diseases afflict millions of Europeans each year. The European Hematology Association (EHA), located in the heart of The Hague (Netherlands), is a non-profit professional association serving clinicians and researchers with an active interest in hematology in Europe and beyond. Our mission is to promote excellence in patient care through education, research and advocacy.

Hematology is constantly changing. We help our members stay current by delivering a structured educational program created by hematologists for hematologists. We offer a range of career development programs to help clinicians and researchers grow professionally and personally. We also advocate for hematologists and hematology at local and international levels.

Join EHA’s Research Department as an intern and gain a frontrow seat to the impact we create—while contributing to meaningful, datadriven projects within a dynamic, international healthcare environment.

As a Research Programs Data Analyst, you will support the analysis of our annual survey aimed at demonstrating the impact of EHA Grants and Research Training programs on the professional and personal development of researchers and clinicians in the field of hematology.

The survey is conducted via the Researchfish platform, which tracks impact based on parameters such as collaborations, publications, additional funding, clinical trials, and more. Survey data are exported as Excel sheets, and reports must be generated to explore the data in depth. These findings help us refine our programs to better meet the expectations of the community.

Why join us?

By joining EHA and contributing to this activity, you will learn how to evaluate the longterm impact of initiatives such as supporting research projects in specific disease areas or geographical regions, and which metrics best capture these outcomes. The project has the potential to further shape EHA programs for researchers, and you will gain direct insight into how data collection, verification, and analysis translate into organizational strategic priorities.

 What we offer

  • The opportunity to contribute to the largest hematology association in Europe.

  • An international and dynamic environment with over 15 nationalities.

  • Flexibility and a collaborative work culture that values wellbeing.

  • A hybrid working model, with a minimum of three office days per week in The Hague.

  • An internship allowance of €775 gross (based on 40 hours).

Job requirements

  • Only candidates who are registered at an Educational Institute and live in the Netherlands will be considered. If you are a non-EU/EEA national, a valid work permit for the Netherlands is required.

  • Employment will be subject to the dissolving condition that the employee provides the employer with a valid Certificate of Conduct (VOG) within eight weeks of the commencement date of their employment.

  • Availability to join us on March 30 (or around that date) for a minimum of three months.

    Specific requirements for this internship

  • You are a bachelor student in biology (or a related field), currently in your third or final year.

  • Knowledge of scientific publication database searches (e.g., PubMed, Google Scholar, etc.).

  • Experience and knowledge in data analysis.

  • Good command of Microsoft Office.

  • Strong presentation skills.

Hybrid
  • The Hague, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands
