Job Description - Jobs at MKOBO Microfinance Bank

MKOBO Microfinance Bank is a Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)-licensed microfinance bank in Lagos, Nigeria. MKOBO was created to address consumers’ need for access to short-term emergency financing. Our goal is to make short-term, unsecured loans freely available. In order to enhance financial inclusion among Nigerians, we cater to a demographic that commercial banks currently do not serve.

1). Head of Product Management

Location: Lagos

Employment Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive product roadmap aligned with the company’s overall business objectives and growth strategy
  • Conduct thorough market research and user research to identify customer needs and opportunities for product innovation.
  • Define product vision, strategy, and features for consumer and SME banking products (savings, loans, earned wage access).
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to translate product vision into high-quality, user-friendly products.
  • Manage the product development lifecycle, including product ideation, prioritization, development, launch, and post-launch optimization.
  • Own the product roadmap and backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and efficient resource allocation.
  • Develop and implement a robust product analytics strategy to measure product performance and user engagement
  • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to ensure effective product positioning and go-to-market strategies.
  • Lead product efforts for the company’s expansion into new African markets, tailoring offerings to specific regional needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Product Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in product management within FinTech or a related industry.
  • Proven experience in launching successful FinTech products with a strong user focus.
  • Experience with user research methodologies and user experience (UX) best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English and a strong understanding of the Nigerian business environment.

2). Chief Marketing Officer

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.
  • Lead the development and execution of user acquisition campaigns across various channels to achieve ambitious growth targets
  • Oversee all aspects of brand management, ensuring a clear, consistent, and compelling brand message across all touchpoints
  • Manage and optimize the company’s digital marketing presence, including website, social media, and mobile app
  • Develop and implement targeted marketing campaigns for both consumer and SME segments, promoting savings, loans, and earned wage access products
  • Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with other FinTech companies, financial institutions, and relevant organizations
  • Lead market research and competitive analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and identify new growth opportunities
  • Build and manage a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Develop and maintain a marketing budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and maximizing ROI

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of building and scaling user bases for FinTech products.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels (SEO, SEM, social media marketing, content marketing, etc.).
  • Experience with marketing automation tools and marketing analytics platforms.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English and a strong understanding of the Nigerian business environment.
