  • Responsible for the overall success of the Company and overseeing the complete operation of the Company in accordance with the direction established in the strategic plans.

Job Responsibilities
Board Functions/Responsibilities to the Board:

  • Report business activities and financial performance to the Board
  • Provide strategic insights for business growth and expansion
  • Provide strategic advice to the Board on cost-effective business decisions and block leakages
  • Prepare and present realistic financial budgets

Strategic Responsibilities/Functions:

  • Plan, develop, and implement strategic goals and plans of the organization
  • Create, improve, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization that will improve the operational and financial effectiveness of the company
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to team members
  • Evaluate and continually improve on the company’s structure – Financial, Operations, Business Development, Sales & Marketing, and Research.
  • Provide financial guidance and advice to others within executive leadership

Business Development:

  • Provide insights and lead the development of new products and services to boost income line;
  • Provide insights and lead the development of new products and services to improve the quality of customer’s experience;
  • Work with other business units/subsidiaries to create equities-based products

Sales and Marketing:

  • Marketing/Sales of all products and services – Equities, Bonds, other Asset classes, CPs, Euro Bonds, etc.
  • Marketing/Sales of other products and services – Securities Backed Loans, Leases, etc.
  • Marketing and Sales of Insurance Products
  • Soliciting new business relationships – Secondary markets, Primary market, and others
  • Generating leads and closing out on leads.

Relationship Management:

  • Ensure a good stance with Regulators and other operators
  • Provide second-layer relationship management for Institutional, Corporates, HNIs, etc.
  • Provide investment advisory to clients to enable clients to maximize relevant opportunities in both the Capital and Money market.

Managerial Functions:

  • Regularly generate ideas to improve the company’s bottom line
  • Regularly generate ideas to improve quality of service delivery
  • Regularly generate ideas to improve relationship management
  • Reduce cost and wastage
  • Regularly display leadership traits and skills

Proprietary Book:

  • Coordinate and strategically guide to maximizing returns on Proprietary book
  • Provide relevant investment advisory

Supervisory Functions:

  • Provide adequate supervisory role to the Research department, Compliance
  • Any other assignment designated by the Group Managing Director and the Board of Directors

Other Duties:

  • Ensure that the Company is Profitable.
  • Market to Corporate Organizations and Individuals all products of the Company and the Group.
  • Oversee the achievement of the budget of the company as laid out in the Annual Budget
  • Ensure effective coordination of all Board and Board Committee Meetings i.e., Scheduling, Minutes, Matters Arising, Documents/Papers for Board Meetings
  • Ensure compliance with all agreed responses to CBN Inspection observations and Group Internal Audit exceptions according to time frames hitherto agreed
  • Assessing risks to the company and ensuring they are monitored and minimized
  • Maintain awareness of the competitive market landscape expansion opportunities industry development
  • Communicating with the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure that the Company complies with regulatory directives – timely response to letters and submission of any required information or documents as may be required by the regulators.
  • Carrying out effectively the policies laid down by the Board of Directors, and ensuring that all policies are well understood and complied with by all members of the organization
  • Ensure integrity and courage in the provision of consistently robust advice to the Board, Shareholders and others as necessary
  • Present reports at Monthly Performance Review Meetings and Board Meetings.
  • Creating and innovating new products and services.
  • Ensuring effective cost-reduction measures
  • Coordinate the development of key performance goals for functions and direct reports.
  • Ensure key hiring and talent development programs for the Company.
  • Communicate Strategy and results to the Company’s employees. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, or Business Administration
  • Possession of a postgraduate academic or professional qualification in a relevant discipline will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience; with a minimum of 5 years of Senior Level Managerial experience.
  • Sound knowledge of Corporate Stock Broking, Brokerage Services/ Stockbroking, Estate Account and Shares Transmission, Equities Investments.
  • Knowledge of FinTech and the ability to drive the development of products around FinTechs.
