Position Overview
The hospital porter plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of a healthcare facility by providing essential support services.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Transportation: Safely and efficiently transport patients to and from various hospital departments, including the emergency room, operating rooms, imaging centers, and patient rooms.
Medical Equipment Handling: Assist in the transportation of medical equipment such as beds, wheelchairs, stretchers, and portable medical devices as needed.
Supply Management: Deliver medical supplies, linens, and other materials to different hospital units while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Waste Management: Collect and dispose of medical waste, linen, and other hospital related waste in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
Assistance to Staff: Provide support to hospital staff by assisting with the movement of equipment and supplies during emergencies or as requested.
Patient Comfort: Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients and their families, providing assistance as needed to ensure their comfort and well-being.
Environmental Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized hospital environment by performing tasks such as mopping floors, emptying trash bins, and ensuring the cleanliness of patient transport equipment.
Communication: Effectively communicate with nursing staff, physicians, and other hospital personnel to coordinate patient transportation and address any special requirements or concerns.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a High School Diploma or equivalent with 1 - 5 years relevant work experience.
Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and patients safely.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate and patient-focused attitude.
Basic understanding of hospital safety and infection control protocols.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
