Job title : Accountant (Pharmaceutical)

Job Objective

• We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage general accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and supporting the finance team with various accounting tasks. This role requires a thorough understanding of accounting principles and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Principal Duties / Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
• Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and regulations.

General Ledger Management:

• Maintain the general ledger by recording all financial transactions accurately.
• Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciling accounts and preparing journal entries.
• Review and reconcile bank statements and inter-company accounts.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

• Manage accounts payable by processing invoices, verifying expense reports, and ensuring timely payments to vendors.
• Oversee accounts receivable by generating invoices, monitoring outstanding balances, and following up on overdue accounts.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
• Support the finance team in identifying cost-saving opportunities and financial efficiencies.

Tax Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare tax returns.
• Liaise with external tax advisors and regulatory authorities as needed.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and implement necessary adjustments.

Audit and Internal Controls:

• Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation and information.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions.

Financial Analysis:

• Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Provide insights on financial performance, including profitability, liquidity, and cost management.
• Collaborate with other departments to develop financial strategies and plans.

Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:

• Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required by healthtech and pharmaceutical authorities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and their impact on financial operations.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
• Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the healthtech or pharmaceutical sector.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements and reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of integrity and ethical standards.
