- We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage general accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and supporting the finance team with various accounting tasks. This role requires a thorough understanding of accounting principles and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Principal Duties / Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and regulations.
General Ledger Management:
- Maintain the general ledger by recording all financial transactions accurately.
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciling accounts and preparing journal entries.
- Review and reconcile bank statements and inter-company accounts.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Manage accounts payable by processing invoices, verifying expense reports, and ensuring timely payments to vendors.
- Oversee accounts receivable by generating invoices, monitoring outstanding balances, and following up on overdue accounts.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
- Support the finance team in identifying cost-saving opportunities and financial efficiencies.
Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare tax returns.
- Liaise with external tax advisors and regulatory authorities as needed.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and implement necessary adjustments.
Audit and Internal Controls:
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation and information.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide insights on financial performance, including profitability, liquidity, and cost management.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop financial strategies and plans.
Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required by healthtech and pharmaceutical authorities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and their impact on financial operations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
- Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the healthtech or pharmaceutical sector.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements and reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
