Accounting & Compliance Lead

Position Overview:

Avant Tech is seeking a highly skilled Accounting & Compliance Lead to oversee our financial reporting and compliance functions. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of our financial operations while maintaining adherence to relevant regulatory standards. You will be responsible for managing accounting operations, maintaining compliance with laws and regulations, and leading a team in executing best practices in accounting and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and enforce accounting procedures and policies in compliance International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Prepare accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow forecasts.
• Oversee and manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Ensure compliance with taxation regulations and file all requisite tax returns in a timely manner.
• Prepares financial and non-financial compliance reports, oversees regulatory adherence, and manages internal and external audits.
• Ensures that SOPs are documented and adhered to.
• Develop and enhance internal control frameworks to ensure the safeguarding of the company’s assets and correctness of financial reporting.
• Advise and assist senior management with strategic financial planning and decision-making.

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as ICAN or ACCA is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and compliance roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity, preferably in the Consulting and Staffing sector.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks) and advanced Google Workspace skills; strong knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex financial issues and compliance requirements.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; strong organizational skills with a proactive mindset.
• Work Style: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
