Summary:

The Advocacy & Community Outreach Associate plays a vital role in advancing the organization’s mission by designing and executing strategic advocacy and community engagement initiatives. This position focuses on fostering meaningful participation from diverse communities, strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, and driving social change through informed, inclusive, and sustainable outreach efforts. The Associate will lead the development and implementation of community-based campaigns, facilitate policy dialogues, and ensure that marginalized voices are integrated into program design and advocacy strategies. By building strong partnerships and delivering impactful public awareness activities, the role contributes directly to policy influence, community empowerment, and long-term development outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement advocacy and community outreach strategies aligned with organizational and project objectives.
Mobilize communities and facilitate stakeholder engagement to promote active participation in programs and initiatives.
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government agencies, civil society organizations, community leaders, media, and other key stakeholders.
Organize and lead advocacy campaigns, policy dialogues, community forums, town hall meetings, and public awareness events.
Conduct community sensitization and behavior change communication activities on priority development issues.
Support policy research, advocacy messaging, and the development of position papers, briefing notes, and campaign materials.
Represent the organization at meetings, networks, coalitions, and community engagement platforms.
Monitor advocacy outcomes, document success stories, and prepare comprehensive reports on outreach and stakeholder engagement activities.
Collect and analyze community feedback to inform program design, implementation, and policy advocacy efforts.
Strengthen the capacity of community groups, volunteers, and local champions to lead and sustain advocacy initiatives.
Ensure inclusive participation by actively engaging women, youth, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized groups in all outreach activities.
