Boat Captain

The Company

We operate a free zone and port facilitating global trade with Africa.

The Role

The boat captain will be responsible for the following:

• Safe operation and navigation of the boats


• Overseeing the crew


• Ensuring compliance with maritime laws


• Making all critical decisions regarding the boats’ journey


• Prioritizing the safety of passengers, crew, and the boat.

Reporting To

Marine Administrator

Responsibilities

• Safely navigate and operate assigned vessel in accordance with maritime laws and company procedures.


• Ensure the safety of passengers, crew, vehicles, and the boat.


• Monitor weather conditions and make operational decisions accordingly.


• Organizes fuelling of the boat and fills the fuel record paper.


• Report incidents, damages, or safety concerns immediately to the marine administrator.


• Fills passenger and vehicle record paper after every trip made


• Performing other tasks as instructed by the marine administrator.

Requirements

• Valid boat captain license/certificate of competency


• Minimum 3-5 years' proven experience operating passenger and/or cargo vessels


• Knowledge of maritime safety regulations and navigation procedures


• Basic First aid and Fire safety training


• Strong leadership and communication skills


• bility to make sound decisions under pressure.


• Must be able to swim.
