Job Title: Campaign Maintenance Engineer (PACO) |
Reports to: Asset Maintenance Execution Head |
Position Description - Purpose:
Manage frontline aspects of Control Systems and Instrumentation campaign maintenance in OML17 Flow stations (FS), Associated gas Gathering (AGG) and Non-Associated Gas (NAG) facilities, in sync with approved maintenance plans, with a view to maximizing process safety, Systems Effectiveness and Production.
Also, responsible for the integration of all other functional inputs to achieve disruption free running of the FS, AGG and NAG facilities. |
Position description – Accountabilities.
- Support Heirs Energies’ value realization/revenue generation by maximizing the Systems Effectiveness of facilities - process control and instrumentation.
- Track, Monitor, and optimize the performance of field Transmitters, sensors and controllers to ensure all parameters are a true reflection of reality; intervene as necessary when performance trends towards agreed thresholds.
- Collaborate with other field disciplines, in the resolution of issues that impact Systems Effectiveness, to ensure synergy and sustainable solutions.
- Execute approve changes to process set points and flag any unintended consequence for mitigation and management.
- Make tactical inputs to support the Head, Maintenance Execution with continuous improvement of maintenance effectiveness.
- Maintain a register/log of Calibrations, derogations, deviations, MoCs, LO/LC, and overrides in the respective facilities; flag any non-conformance and follow through to closure.
- Support the implementation of MiE best practices in the field to enhance facility availability, lower deferment, lower UOC and exceed production targets.

Position Description – Roles/Responsibilities:
This Role has direct responsibility for the Instrumentation and Control systems in FS, NAG and AGG facilities within Agbada and Obigbo Clusters, to achieve TQ performance in the following areas.
- Environmental and Process safety
- Plant Operational Integrity and Availability
- Production Volumes and quality
Safety responsibilities
- Execute and enforce Operations Management System policies and procedures in particular Isolation/de-isolation Standards, and PTW.
- Monitor, analyze and manage alarms and participate in variable table reviews.
- Report all discharges, leaks, spills, weeps, missing bolts, loose connections, injuries, and incidents.
- Carry out assigned Emergency Response role.
AGG and NAG Control Room Responsibilities
- Support AGG and NAG facility Start up, ramp-up and shutdown
- Monitor and optimize the performance of the DeltaV Control System, The GE SIS/F&G, and field transmitters to ensure parameters are within operating requirements and a true reflection of the process,
- Troubleshoot deviations and implement interventions timely, to maximize Uptime and sales volumes, quantity/quality to customers.
- Monitor and Maintain the Human machine Interface (HMI), electronic/electrical/hydraulic control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices, Control and Shutdown valves.
- Ensure accurate and timely production data reporting daily or as required by company and client,
- Support transmitter, valves, and meter validations and calibrations and verify they are in sync with HMI readings in the CCR.
Maintenance:
- Assist maintenance and operations field work crews by applying /removing isolation/Maintenance overrides as required.
- Lead the cybersecurity aspects in collaboration with the IT team
- Participate in collaborative multidisciplinary investigations, including resolution HMI-Field Device Command-status errors, and real-time data flow to RTOC
SIS/F&G
- Diagnose and repair Shutdown/ESD Systems in AGG and NAG facilities
- Support Upgrades and hotfixes of same systems
DCS/ROC/SPEC 200
- Execute PM/CM of 5 DeltaV DCS systems in OML17, including field instrumentation Hardware and Software Upgrades, to achieve a System Effectiveness of 85%
- Diagnose and repair Suboptimal Performance of DCS Interfaces with 3rd party Systems, like SIS, F&G, etc., and Interfaces with other DCS systems
- Execute Preventive Maintenance, including Firmware Upgrades, Installation of patches, DD files, Health check and Cyber security evergreening
- PM/CM of 4 ROCs in Flow stations
- PM/CM of the SPEC 200 control system in Obigbo NAG
- System integration and commissioning
- Hands-on training for operations and other field maintenance disciplines to enhance operational integrity
- Provide input to Spare parts inventory management team
- Use ERP consistently in the execution of maintenance activities
INSTRUMENTATION
- Diagnose and repair of Field Devices, including electronic Sensors and transmitters.
- Diagnose and repair Pneumatic Field Devices, including Recorders, Switches, and single loop Controllers.
- Diagnose and repair open path gas detectors
- PM/CM of Gas Chromatograph and Analysers
- Shutdown/ESD Systems maintenance
- Robertshaw Panel maintenance
- Instrument Air Package (Controls) Maintenance.
- Control and Shutdown Valves re kitting
- Valve leak test and valve Performance test
- Calibration of P, T, F Transmitters
- Collation of PM/CM and consumables for instrumentation systems
- Instrumentation/Control equipment Failure analysis, determination, and execution of improvement actions
- Preventive Maintenance of HVAC systems
- Corrective maintenance of Flare Ignition Systems
- Participate in worksite safety assurance tasks, utilizing SSOW, PTW, etc

Position description – Dimensions
- Over 1,000 field devices and control valves
- Interfaces with PI, all other existing systems, and future interfaces – IOMC, remote facility operations, remote diagnostics and maintenance.
- Annual budget of circa $1M

- Integration with the multi-discipline field technicians and control room personnel to deliver seamlessly.
- Embedding behavioral change of performance, safety leadership, and continuous improvement across all maintenance workflows

Experience and qualifications required
Educational
- BSc or HND qualified, preferably in an Engineering discipline.
Work
- 10 years, hands-on oil industry experience in the maintenance of Safeguarding and control systems, transmitters, and other field devices.
- Knowledgeable in HSSE processes & track record of delivery
- Ability to deliver results, individually and through others, without direct authority
- Broad knowledge/experience of oil and gas operations data management and reporting
- Strong analytical skills and ability to pull together information, identify the issues, then formulate and deliver action plans
- Strong interpersonal skills, and experience in interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
