Our client, a high-end luxury company, seeks to employ a Chief Accountant.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure timely and accurate preparation and maintenance of periodic management and financial reports and records.
Support the Head of Finance in ensuring timely monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.
Prepare and/or reviews month-end journal entries.
Coordinate the preparation of the Sell-in, Sell-out and Stock-in-hand reports for review by the Head of
Finance before submission to suppliers.
Prepare reports on the companyâs assets, financial performance, liquidity and main risks.
Prepare timely, regular management accounts for the company according to the deadline set by management.
Make cashflow and financial forecasts.
Prepare for and review annual audit work papers and ensure adjustments journals are passed to agree companyâs books and records with the audited financial statement.
Monthly review of bank reconciliations, loan schedules, etc.
Manage intercompany transactions and ensure reconciliation.
Ensure that financial policies and procedures set by Management are implemented effectively.
Ensure that all accounting systems, procedures are in line with the International Accounting Standards and IFRS.
Maintain quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Implements effective accounting procedures and internal controls which conform to corporate standards and best practices.
Maintain efficient and effective fixed assets system covering the day-to-day recording and control over the companyâs fixed assets.
Maintain proper accounting records, Manage and scrutinize daily accounting activities of the companyâs general ledger.
Provide the Head of Finance with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products.
Participate in inventory review and inventory data management.
Manage accounts payable, account receivable and cash application functions to ensure timely and accurate recording, payments, collection, reconciliation and reporting of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Work closely with Sales and Inventory control team to ensure discrepancies and payment delinquencies are resolved on a timely basis.
Update the Cashflow forecast and provide weekly updates to the Head of Finance.
Review and appraise the soundness, effectiveness, and proper application of accounting and financial controls, compliance procedures and controls, and timeliness of documentation generation..
Prepare Trial Balance of the company with lead schedules for all control accounts and update the general ledger with approved audit adjustment journals.
Ensures compliance with all statutory and accounting requirements.
Works with the Head of Finance to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
Analyses potential financial risks and monitor the implementation of risk mitigating activities.
Requirements
Bachelorâs Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or related fields.
8 yearsâ experience in the field at minimum, preferably in the FMCG or Financial Services industry.
Internationally recognized accounting professional qualifications (ACA CPA, ACCA, CMA).
Masterâs Degree and/or MBA will be an added advantage.
Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Well-developed analytical, accounting skills and IFRS Knowledge.
Proven record of leading and developing subordinates.
Strong ability to prioritize, multi-task and delegate.
