Chief Engineer / Director of Operations

We're currently partnering with leading construction management firm based in Lagos, Nigeria, specializing in infrastructure development, engineering and construction services, as well as design and building.

They are currently looking for a Chief Engineer / Director of Operations.

Job Summary:
Oversee and manage all civil construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
· Implement and maintain project management processes, standards, and best practices.
· Manage project budgets, monitor costs, and ensure financial accountability.
· Lead, mentor, and develop project teams.
· Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards across all projects.
· Maintain detailed project documentation.
· Act as the main liaison with clients, engineers, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
· Track key operational metrics to ensure efficient project execution.

Requirements:
· At least 15 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
· Leadership and team management experience.
· Hands-on experience with concrete work.
· Familiarity with roads, bridges, and/or high-rise building projects.
· Prior experience working in Nigeria is preferred.
· Strong understanding of civil construction processes, materials, techniques, and equipment, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Strong command of English.

Qualifications:
· Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
· COREN License is a plus.
· Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent).
