Job Description - Chief of Sales


Mamoru is a pioneering fintech startup specializing in digital FX cross-border payments. We are expanding our global footprint by establishing our first branch in Nigeria. Our mission is to revolutionize the way businesses and individuals conduct cross-border transactions, making them faster, more secure, and cost-effective. 
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Sales Officer (CSO) to lead our sales and business development efforts in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and business development, with an existing network of FX trading clients and cross-border payments clients in Nigeria. This role is critical to our success in the region, as the CSO will be responsible for setting up the business, establishing local bank accounts and brokers, working with regulators to obtain the necessary licensing and compliance, and rapidly scaling our local client base.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the company’s strategic vision and business plan to achieve long-term growth and profitability.
  • Operational Management: Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and alignment with the company’s goals.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage the company’s financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new market opportunities, partnerships, and business development initiatives to expand Mamoru’s global footprint.
  • Team Leadership: Build, inspire, and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with investors, partners, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and implement robust risk management practices. 
  • Technology and Innovation: Drive technological advancements and innovation to maintain Mamoru’s competitive edge in the fintech industry.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of executive sales / business development leadership experience, preferably in the fintech, FX or financial services industry.
  • Education: MBA or advanced degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, and operational management skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of the regional / global FX markets. Familiarity with regulatory environments in Nigeria and globally.
  • Attributes: Visionary leader with a track record of driving growth and innovation. High integrity, resilience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
