We are seeking highly experienced CTO that will be responsible for setting the technological vision and strategy for our business. In this role, the CTO will oversee the integration and management of a major global trading software, drive innovation, ensure seamless platform integration, and maintain high standards of performance, security, and regulatory compliance. The CTO will also oversee the entire technology functions, including system architecture, cybersecurity, and IT operations. The CTO will work closely with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with strategic business objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
⢠Technology Strategy and Vision:
o Define and execute the long\-term technology strategy in alignment with the companyâs business goals and market opportunities.
o Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends and integrate innovative solutions to maintain competitive advantage.
o Develop a technology roadmap that addresses both current and future business needs, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
⢠Platform Integration and Management:
o Oversee the seamless integration of vendor software with in\-house IT infrastructure
o Manage software/technology contracts/agreements with vendors, ensuring that contractual obligations and performance benchmarks are met.
o Coordinate communications with IT vendors to ensure smooth operations and system interoperability
o Ensure that system architecture is robust and flexible enough to support rapid growth and market changes.
⢠IT Infrastructure Oversight:
o Supervise and ensure efficient utilization of Companyâs investment in IT assets.
o Ensure that all IT infrastructure components support the high performance, security, and scalability of the trading platform.
o Implement robust IT governance frameworks to optimize infrastructure costs and drive operational excellence.
⢠Cybersecurity and Regulatory Compliance:
o Lead the development and implementation of advanced cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive data and ensure platform integrity.
o Ensure that all technology solutions, including integrated systems, comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
o Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address data privacy, cyber risk, and regulatory issues.
⢠Team Leadership and Vendor Management:
o Build, mentor, and lead a high\-performing technology team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
o Manage relationships with the external software service provider, ensuring effective communication, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
o Oversee vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and manage technology budgets related to both external subscriptions and internal infrastructure investments.
⢠Operational Excellence and IT Governance:
o Oversee IT operations, including network management, cloud services, and disaster recovery, to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
o Implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy, streamline operations, and support business growth.
o Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for technology performance and system integration.
⢠Stakeholder Engagement and Strategic Partnerships:
o Act as a key spokesperson for technology strategy, engaging with internal stakeholders, investors, and external partners.
o Identify, establish and manage strategic partnerships with technology providers and industry groups to bolster the companyâs technological capabilities.
Requirements
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
⢠BSc in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
⢠MBA, MSc in IT, Computer Science, Technology Management or related field, and/or Professional Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, etc., is highly desirable.
⢠10 \- 15 years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles, preferably within the energy, trading platforms, or financial services sector.
⢠Proven track record in developing and executing technology strategies that drive business growth and innovation.
⢠Significant experience in software integration, IT infrastructure management, and vendor relationship management.
⢠Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory compliance in highly regulated industries.
⢠Deep knowledge of modern software development methodologies, cloud computing, data analytics, and IT infrastructure.
⢠Experience managing external technology solutions (e.g., subscription\-based trading software) alongside in\-house IT investments.
⢠Proficiency in project management tools and agile methodologies.
⢠Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business strategies.
⢠Proven track record in leading teams and fostering collaborations across teams/units.
⢠Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with senior management and board members.
