JOB SUMMARY

The Communication and Corporate Affairs Manager will lead the development and execution of the company's communication strategies, both internally and externally. This role involves managing the company's public image, handling media relations, overseeing internal communications, and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms. The manager will also be responsible for corporate affairs activities, including stakeholder engagement, corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and regulatory compliance communications.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Strategic Communication Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate with senior management to create communication plans for major projects, announcements, and initiatives.
  • Manage the production and dissemination of information with the targeted publics through appropriate channels in line with the corporate mission and vision.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Manage and coordinate research into stakeholder's perceptions and image of the organization, to achieve and maintain a positive reputation for the organization.

Media Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets and journalists.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all media inquiries.
  • Prepare press releases, media kits, and other press materials.
  • Coordinate press conferences, interviews, and media events.

Internal Communications:

  • Develop and implement internal communication strategies to ensure employees are well-informed and engaged.
  • Create and distribute internal newsletters, announcements, and other communications
  • Manage internal communication channels such as the company intranet, emails, and bulletin boards.
  • Organize and facilitate internal events and meetings.

Corporate Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, industry associations, and community organizations.
  • Represent the company at industry events, forums, and conferences.
  • Collaborate with the sustainability department to Plan and implement Corporate Social Responsibility that champion and develop the ethical, environmentally friendly, and community-minded side of the organization. This would involve job creating links between the organization and the community and raising positive awareness of the organization’s commitment to sustainable social responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and communicate relevant information to stakeholders.

Brand Framework Development and Management:

  • Ensure consistent messaging and brand integrity across all communication channels.
  • Collaborate with marketing and design teams to develop and maintain brand guidelines.
  • Oversee the production of promotional materials and corporate publications.

Crisis Communication:

  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans to manage potential threats to the company’s reputation.
  • Act as a spokesperson during crises and manage communication responses.
  • Provide training and support to staff on crisis communication protocols.

Content Creation and Management:

  • Oversee the creation of high-quality content for various platforms, including the company website, social media, and newsletters.
  • Manage the company’s social media presence and engage with audiences online.
  • Ensure all content is accurate, timely, and aligns with the company’s messaging and branding.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor the communications team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
  • Conduct performance reviews and identify development opportunities for team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.

JOB EXPERIENCE

Educational requirement

  • Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, International Relations, Industrial Relations, or related field from a recognized university or a related field.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and analytics.

Professional Requirement

  • Membership of CIM / IPR Ghana / IPRA/ CIPR-UK/ CIM/APR/ ABC or relevant professional body

Experience Requirement

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in communication tools and platforms, including social media, content management systems, and design software.
