Our client is a strategic communications firm established to support organizations in achieving their business goals through tailored and impactful communication solutions. Due to expansion, they are in need of a CONTENT MANAGER.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy for print and online publications, aligning with brand goals and audience interests.
Research and create engaging content, including articles, features, captions, and multimedia elements, reflecting Nigerian lifestyle, business culture, and fashion.
Collaborate with subject matter experts, designers, photographers, and videographers to produce cohesive, visually striking content.
Edit and refine all content for clarity, grammar, style, and consistency, adhering to brand guidelines and high-quality standards.
Proofread meticulously to eliminate errors in spelling, grammar, and facts, upholding journalistic integrity.
Oversee every publication produced by the organization, tailoring oversight to each publication’s unique content focus and strategy (e.g., lifestyle features, business, cultural deep dives, fashion trends).
Ensure all publications align with their specific objectives, target audience, and the client’s overarching vision and brand guidelines.
Manage and mentor a team of writers, freelancers, and content creators, assigning tasks, providing feedback, and ensuring timely delivery.
Act as the primary point of contact for content-related matters, liaising with marketing, social media, and design teams to amplify reach.
Partner with the digital team to incorporate SEO best practices—keywords, meta tags, and formatting—to boost online visibility and traffic.
Analyze reader feedback, comments, and web analytics to refine content and enhance audience engagement.
Travel as needed for research, interviews, or site visits to gather authentic, primary source material.
Organize and document research findings for effective use in content development.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism or a related field.
5-7 years of work experience in content creation, management, or editing, ideally for print and/or digital publications.
Proven ability to lead content strategy and manage large-scale, multi-channel projects and publications.
Exceptional creative writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a sharp eye for detail and mastery of the English language.
Strong research skills, including interviews, archival reviews, and on-site investigations.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, both independently and collaboratively.
Proficiency with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal) and basic HTML knowledge.
Experience in Nigerian lifestyle, business culture, or fashion content creation.
Familiarity with design, layout, and publishing processes for print and digital media.
