Role Summary
As a Digital Media, Storytelling, and Concept Development Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s public narrative by leading digital engagement across key social platforms. You will oversee content strategy and execution, producing compelling, original written and multimedia content that communicates public health and science journalism with clarity and impact. Your work will bridge program activities and public outreach, transforming real-world initiatives into engaging stories that inspire action and awareness. You will also contribute early-stage creative concepts and drafts to new project proposals, helping to define the vision and tone of emerging initiatives. This role is essential to amplifying the organization’s mission, expanding its reach, and deepening audience connection through authentic, data-informed storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow the organization’s digital media presence across Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.
- Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly content calendars aligned with strategic goals and audience insights.
- Create original content including written posts, graphics briefs, short-form videos, and human-interest stories that reflect public health and science journalism.
- Monitor engagement metrics and respond promptly to audience interactions to foster community dialogue.
- Update and maintain the organizational website with timely news, program highlights, and project updates.
- Contribute creative storytelling ideas and draft concept notes for new initiatives, providing early-stage narrative frameworks.
- Document program activities through photography, interviews, and field notes to support reporting and communications needs.
