What You'll Do
BCG's Center for Customer Insight (CCI) and Market Acceleration (MAC) topics ensure that BCG continues to bring its clients the full value of superior customer insight with its specialists joining or supporting project teams. CCI works in the customer insight driven strategy that significantly support MAC’s go-to-market and route-to-market focused strategies.

Our Market Acceleration/MAC (Go-to-Market in Emerging Markets) approach helps companies unlock profitable growth through an institutionalized approach and digitally enabled sales and distribution transformations. Our client proposition includes access to proprietary data specific to emerging markets; digital solutions to accelerate time to impact and drive consistent execution; and depth of experience.

We are seeking a strong candidate with experience and passion to fill a position to support out two inter-linked topics CCI and MAC in Africa. This professional will be:

• Primarily staffed on BCG client projects. He/she will join teams to design and execute consumer insight research, interpret its results and ensure full and appropriate integration into recommendations to clients.
• In addition to participating in client projects, he/she will contribute to the other activities such as managing CCI and MAC proprietary database development and report publications, validation of new research approaches, vendor qualification and management, and advancing consumer research tools and techniques.

Roles and Responsibilities (all should apply; there may be additional activities)
• Provides support for our client work (may require travel to be co-located with case/project team).
• Defines / refines research plan to meet the projects' overall objectives (including both qualitative and quantitative research).
• Organizes or supervises research execution: vendor selection and briefing, questionnaire design, coordination etc.
• Participates in the research as appropriate (specially for researches using BCG's proprietary techniques like MindDiscovery and Brand Centric Transformation).
• Analyzes results from research, extracts after identifying overall trends and communicates findings and insights.
• Contributes to ultimate recommendations development and communication to clients.
• In addition to participate as full-member of selected projects, offers ad-hoc support to other projects.
• Establishes credibility with case teams regarding practice area; takes positions/draws conclusions on a range of insight topics; full case team integration can be possible.
• Supports BCG partners and principals on proposal efforts, lead preparation and other marketing activities.
• Develops specialized topic knowledge - design of new research techniques or approaches.
• Leads CCI PA intellectual capital development (such as Buzz to Bucks, Digital Power Consumer Durables, Fashion Forward 2020, etc. work that can be viewed on bcg.perspectives.com).
• Authors training materials in topic area
• Promotes innovation at BCG by recognizing new concepts and facilitating their capture.
• Supports the local office (e.g., provides training in PA content and proprietary tools).
• Insert oneself into client projects and proposals alongside senior members, establishing credibility with client and leaders as an expert in the MAC topics; which is about driving Go-to-Market Strategy by accelerating sales & distribution growth levers.

The Expert Consulting Track (ECT) is vital to BCG’s ability to successfully meet our clients’ demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities. Experts deliver next-level impact for BCG's most complex and cutting-edge client challenges. Experts focus on developing BCG's thought leadership, commercial capabilities, and intellectual property assets; and their work is essential to our delivery model. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to bring the ‘best of BCG’ to our clients, Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise often gained outside of BCG in industry, academia, or specialized consulting.

What You'll Bring
• Expert knowledge in consumer and market research techniques both qualitative and quantitative (expertise in quantitative is a must – qualitative could be more of a working knowledge) eg – expertise in quantitative Data Modeling, Conjoint Analysis, Maxdiff Analysis, Clustering Models, Customer Segmentation Analysis amongst other prominent quantitative techniques.
• Candidate should have hands-on expertise in working with statistical tools such as SPSS.
• 8+ years of successful professional experience in consulting, consumer research firms renowned for their expertise in the domain, such as market research firms, leading consumer packaged goods companies.
• Candidates with consulting experience will be preferred.
• Business degree, MBA preferred.
