Our client is a facilities-based telecommunications services provider that have invested heavily in “next generation” networking technologies to build a multi-service network platform. Due to expansion, they are in need of a FIELD SUPPORT ENGINEER
Job Responsibilities:
• ∙Responsible for ensuring uptime at assigned POPs and also manage and ensure that
• proactive testing, fault diagnostics and resolution are carried out
• ∙Monitor network performance locally and as well as over the air interface
• ∙Provide specialist technical support to all other departments in the organization
• regarding network and radio related problems
• ∙Co-ordinate and perform maintenance of cell sites strictly managed by Swift Networks
• and to liaise with vendors on the maintenance of cell sites not directly managed by Swift
• Networks
• ∙Responsible for the configuration and bench testing of new products and giving ATP
• (Authority To Proceed) concerning those products
• ∙Technical point man between Swift & vendors regarding radio and microwave equipment related RMA issues.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree 2nd Class Honors (Upper division) in Engineering discipline or any other Computer related field.
• Telecom experience will be an added advantage.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with management, other employees and vendors.
• ∙Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
• ∙Ability to interpret a variety of complex instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram
• or schedule form.
• ∙Demonstrated experience with business productivity applications.
• ∙Demonstrated experience with data and telecommunications equipment.
• ∙Able to work on time driven deadlines in a high-pressure environment. .
• ∙This position requires the maintenance of CISCO products and strong knowledge of
• TCP/IP, network monitoring, trending tools.
• ∙Experience with WAN/LAN technologies and protocols, OSPF, RIP, BGP, HSRP, VPN,
• Switching, Trunking. VLAN, NAT, PAT, ACL, SNMP, T1, T3, DSL, ISDN, dial backups, leased lines and structured cabling.
