Job Description
The Finance Officer will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance.
This role requires a strong background in finance and accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will ensure our financial practices are sound, transparent, and aligned with our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with senior management.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
Monitor financial performance against budget and report variances.
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and organizational policies.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Coordinate with external auditors and prepare for audits.
Manage cash flow and oversee investment activities.
Implement and maintain effective internal controls and procedures.
Provide financial advice and insights to support strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with program managers to ensure financial alignment with project goals.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Accounting, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles.
Previous experience working with a non-governmental organization (NGO) is required.
Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and regulations.
Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
