HIRING – Financial
Controller

Location: Abuja, Nigeria

Reporting to: Managing Director

Compensation: Highly Competitive

About Company: Our client is a growing asset
management firm and is seeking an exceptional professional to manage the finance
and operations arm of the business as they drive the next phase of strategic
growth.

The ideal candidate plays a key
role in the organization’s accounting, financial reporting and control
function. This includes financial statement preparation, preparation of
management reports, tax compliance, regulatory financial reporting etc.

This role requires expertise in
investment banking processes, strong leadership skills and the ability to
manage multiple stakeholders including corporates, investors, and regulators.

Key Responsibilities

§  Ensure timely and accurate
preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.

§  Produce comprehensive financial
reports for Executive Management and the Board.

§  Prepare periodic financial
statements/reports; capital-related regulatory submissions.

§  Lead in the annual budgeting and
financial planning process.

§  Provide management with regular
financial dashboards and performance reports.

§  Develop forecasts, scenario
analyses and long-term financial projection.

§  Establish appropriate financial
reporting systems and controls.

§  Monitor liquidity positions,
forecast and ensure the Company can meet its financial obligations as they fall
due.

§  Liaise with the Securities and
Exchange Commission (SEC), external auditors, tax authorities and other
relevant regulatory stakeholders on financial matters.

§  Ensure compliance with
applicable accounting, financial reporting, tax and regulatory requirements.

§  Monitor regulatory changes and
assess their potential financial impact on the Company.

§  Oversee the Company's accounting
function and financial reporting processes.

§  Oversee the Company's tax
strategy and tax compliance.

§  Ensure timely and accurate
filing of all applicable tax returns and statutory obligations.

§  Lead or support capital raising
initiatives for the Company.

§  Develop financial models and
business cases for capital raising, strategic investments and corporate
transactions.



Requirements

§  Bachelor’s degree in Finance,
Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related fields.

§  ICAN or ACCA is required.

§  An MBA or CFA is an added
advantage.

§  Minimum of five (5) years of
relevant work experience in Accounting, Financial Reporting. Industry
Experience preferred.

§  A good knowledge of Nigeria’s
Financial Markets and its instruments is a must.

§  Experience working across
diversified financial services (e.g., corporate lending, banking, Stockbroking,
asset management) is highly desirable.

§  Proficiency in MS Office and
other IT solutions that are relevant to business operation.

§  Good knowledge of the relevant
tax laws that apply to the operations of the company
