Job Description - General Manager, National Sales ( MVNO / Fintech )



Job Title: General Manager, National Sales (MVNO / Fintech)
Location: Nigeria
Industry: Fintech & Telecommunications
Reports To: Executive Management


About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing Fintech and Telecommunications company delivering innovative payment solutions and licensed as a Tier 2 MVNO in Nigeria. With targeted entry products and a mission to scale nationwide, they are seeking an experienced sales leader to drive adoption, build distribution networks, and deliver exponential growth.


Role Overview

The General Manager, National Sales will design, lead, and execute nationwide sales and distribution strategies. This role requires a proven leader who can build strong agent networks, drive partnerships, and deliver on aggressive revenue, subscriber, and transaction growth targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Planning



  • Develop and execute national sales strategies across telecom and fintech products.


  • Lead forecasting, sales planning, and execution to achieve revenue, subscriber, and transaction volume targets.


  • Establish, expand, and manage nationwide distribution networks, including agents, super-agents, merchants, and institutional partners.


  • Drive adoption of innovative products for nationwide penetration.


  • Promote digital payment solutions across merchants, SMEs, FMCGs, and financial inclusion channels.


2. Business Development & Partnerships



  • Identify, negotiate, and secure strategic partnerships with distributors, FMCG-style route-to-market operators, MNO-aligned partners, fintech aggregators, and retail agents.


  • Onboard and manage merchant aggregators, regional distributors, and channel partners.


  • Represent the company at industry engagements, trade fairs, and strategic forums.


3. Operational Excellence



  • Establish KPIs, reporting frameworks, and dashboards for sales performance tracking.


  • Conduct competitor analysis and market intelligence to refine sales strategies.


  • Oversee pricing, budgets, commissions, and incentives.


  • Ensure compliance with NCC, CBN, and industry regulations in all sales activities.


4. Leadership & Team Management



  • Build, lead, and manage a national sales team including regional managers, field agents, and support staff.


  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and structured performance management.


  • Foster a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability, results, and customer satisfaction.








Qualifications & Experience



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA is an advantage).


  • 10+ years’ proven experience in national sales leadership roles.


  • Strong background in distribution-driven industries such as FMCG, Telecoms (MNO/MVNO), Pharmaceuticals, or Financial Services.


  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling agent/distributor networks across Nigeria.


  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills.


  • Strong commercial acumen, analytical ability, and strategic thinking.


  • Willingness to travel extensively across Nigeria.
