Job Function

  • The role is responsible for leading the strategic direction and operational performance of MDS, aligning with the overall business strategy to drive business expansion and revenue growth.
  • The role includes overseeing commercial activities, project execution, and fostering new revenue opportunities, while providing key metrics to position the company for future growth. Ultimately drive revenue generation and ensure the achievement of all financial business objectives

Key Performance Areas:

  • Lead in translating broad business guidelines from the ETT into specific operational plans and lead all business units in the execution of strategic projects, directives and objectives as dictated by client needs, sector developments and directives from executive management.
  • Develop, review, and implement operation’s strategy, ensuring the strategic objectives are well understood and executed by team members.
  • Provide strategic direction for organization’s critical start-up and growth phases to achieve successful delivery of projects/strategic initiatives and exceed performance targets for eastern distribution. Key milestone to be achieve include:
  • Transaction Adviser/Project Lead for all logistics/distribution operations in the entire eastern region across the full spectrum of strategic planning, integration, deployment and performance review.
  • Midwifed the strategic partnership between strategic partners to improve service delivery performance and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Effectively drive people development and manage the team to provide exceptional service
  • Develop and keep up to date go to market strategy, led the development, negotiation and launch of new project
  • Develop Key business strategies, policies and procedures in line with the strategic plan and responsible for total revenue cycle and account management for all clientele which accounts for 85% of revenue.
  • Originate, structure, coordinate and execute capital project and infrastructure
  • Engagements with a focus on sustaining current business operation and ensuring that the business is sustainable on the long run
  • Needs assessment / strategic options analysis and feasibility validation for new projects
  • Project viability assessment /business model development & validation for projects, including preparation of feasibility studies, business plan, and go to market strategy in order to position organization as #1 in the market etc.
  • Stakeholder assessment / management and project risk assessment/allocation of Value analysis / financial analysis (including bottom-line defence)
  • Develop and implement the business model to enable company to be customer’s complete and first choice provider.
  • Oversee the performance reviews and analysis of performance data/reports to drive strategic planning, business process control and focused actions for Key businesses.
  • Develop and implement strategic marketing and sales forecast to achieve corporate objectives for collections and revenue Premium customers.
  • Ensure that the transport and logistics functions (as well as associated business) run effectively and efficiently so that each business unit delivers strategic goals, developmental plan and operational objectives.
  • Implement, maintain and manage an effective system of controls throughout the region, covering non-financial as well as financial controls in order to optimize opportunities, outputs and revenue.
  • Develop and manage existing and new commercial opportunities for organization
  • Perform comprehensive evaluation to determine market potential based on regulatory, financial, and go-to-market factors, create the roadmap, garner executive support and integrate new market initiatives into the company operating plan.
  • Perform regular market and business intelligence to identify opportunities for incremental revenue opportunities for the company with existing client base (B2C) and across the industry (B2B).
  • Provide weekly/monthly/quarterly reports on business performance in order to optimize opportunities, outputs and revenue.
  • Provide valuable analysis and insightful review of the business results and market dynamics; review of value drivers and performance reports in relation to business plans/target.
  • Review quarterly audits reports, implement findings and drive the implementation of approved recommendations of proposed audit reports and measure its impact on operational efficiency and loss reduction targets.
  • Build and lead an effective and cohesive team.
  • Manage the performance of managers and team members within the department through the formal performance management system.
  • Monitor the progress of strategic improvement initiative to ensure timely action, appropriate management support and achievement of expected benefits.
  • Provide the management team with a monthly performance report that captures the achievement of business objectives against agreed targets.
  • Develop quarterly Eastern Performance Analysis report that captures the key contributions of each business drivers / strategic business units to overall corporate performance and the relevant improvements required.
  • Oversee the successfully management of corporate-wide projects to budget, quality and time limits

Qualifications Required:

  • A relevant post graduate qualification
  • Certified in Logistics, Transportation & Distribution (CLTD)
  • Certified in Transportation & Logistics (CILT)
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • Possession of Project Management certification (PRINCE2, PMI etc)
  • Membership of recognized professional body

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience with the last three years in a strategic management role
