Job Description - Head, Sales & Business Development




Our client is an indigenous project delivery company creating innovative engineering solutions across the Oil and Gas (Upstream, Midstream, Downstream), Industrial & Manufacturing, Power & FMCG sectors.







Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and execute sales strategies in line with company objectives.

  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with new and existing clients.

  • Lead and oversee the commercial bids and tendering process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, competitiveness, and timely submission of proposals.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between sales and overall business objectives.

  • Lead and oversee contract negotiations to secure favorable terms while ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Drive revenue generation through innovative and effective sales initiatives.

  • Prepare and present timely sales reports and performance metrics to senior management.

  • Provide oversight in planning, preparation, and execution of sales operations and related activities.

  • Build, develop, and manage a high-performance sales team through effective coaching, mentoring, performance management, and succession planning.

  • Demonstrate accountability for team performance against agreed targets.


Requirements



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Minimum of 10 years’ sales experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in the Oil & Gas or related Energy sectors.

  • Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding revenue targets.

  • Strong understanding of industry regulations, market dynamics, and technical aspects of energy products and services.

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing bids/tenders, sales pipelines, and business development processes.

  • Proficiency in CRM software (Zoho CRM ) and sales analytics tools.
