Our client, a fast -growing beauty and skincare company, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to establish and lead its HR operations. This role is foundational and will be responsible for building HR systems, ensuring compliance with Nigerian labor laws, and shaping the organization’s workplace culture as the company scales its operations.
The successful candidate will work closely with leadership to develop scalable HR infrastructure that supports organizational growth and drives employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
Design and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from job posting to offer acceptance
Develop structured onboarding programs to ensure smooth integration of new employees
2. Employee Relations & Engagement:
Serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees on workplace matters
Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts professionally
Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture
3. Compliance & Legal:
Ensure compliance with Nigerian labor laws and employment regulations
Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
Manage employment contracts, HR policies, and disciplinary processes
4. Compensation & Benefits:
Administer monthly payroll processing accurately
Manage employee benefits and vendor relationships
Conduct market bench marking to ensure competitive compensation structures
5. HR Strategy & Systems:
Develop HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook
Establish HR processes and systems from the ground up
Track HR metrics such as turnover, time -to -hire, and performance trends
Provide HR reports and strategic insights to leadership
6. Learning & Development
Identify training needs across the organization
Coordinate employee development programs
Support performance management and career progression initiatives
Requirements
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field
Minimum 3 years progressive HR experience
Strong understanding of Nigerian labor law and HR best practices
Proven experience managing full -cycle recruitment
Demonstrated payroll administration experience
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred
HR certification such as CIPM, HRPL, SHRM, or equivalent
Experience in retail, FMCG, beauty, or consumer goods industries
Familiarity with HRIS or payroll software
Experience building HR structures from the ground up
Ability to scale HR systems in growing organizations
