Job Description - Inventory Officer

Job title: Inventory Officer


Reports to: Inventory Supervisor


 


Job Summary: 



  • You will be responsible for managing inventory, coordinating deliveries, maintaining stock records, and ensuring the smooth operation of our store.  

  • Support by providing timely access to materials and supplies needed for various projects. This position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment. 


 


Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 


 



  • Conduct regular stock counts, track inventory movements, and update stock records using inventory management systems or manual tracking methods. 

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the store, including receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming materials and supplies. 

  • Ensure proper organisation, labelling, and storage of items to facilitate easy access and inventory management. Implement and maintain efficient shelving systems and storage layouts. 

  • Support the internal teams and external partners as they facilitate the delivery of materials and supplies to various project locations. Ensure timely and accurate documentation of delivery receipts and packing lists. 

  • Monitor stock levels for consumables and proactively initiate the replenishment process to avoid shortages. Analyse consumption patterns and work closely with the purchasing team to forecast demand and optimise inventory levels. 

  • Maintain accurate records of all store-related activities, including receipts, invoices, stock movements, and material requisitions. 

  • Generate regular reports on inventory status, stock turnover, and consumption rates to support decision-making. 

  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and ensure compliance with relevant regulations in the store environment. Maintain a clean and organised store area, including proper disposal of waste and hazardous materials. 

  • Responsible for using and maintaining the filing system of the company at all times and in line with existing policies. 

  • Undertaking any necessary duties to ensure a first-class service is provided always. 

  • Being an ambassador for the business always. 



Qualifications, Competency & Skills Required: 


 



  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management, Economics or a related field. 

  • 3 years' experience in store management, inventory control, or a similar role, preferably in a creative industry. 

  • Proficient in using inventory management software or other tracking systems. 

  • Knowledge of procurement processes, including sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management. 

  • Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry heavy items, as required. 

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to store operations. 

  • Strong organisational and time management skills. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Capability to administer both internal and external correspondence. 

  • Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing priorities. 

  • Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to take on additional responsibilities when needed. 

  • Experienced Microsoft Office user, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

  • Competent Internet, Email, and Google applications user. 

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. 


 


Location: 



  • Lagos, Nigeria; including other locations as required. 


 


Office Hours: 



  • 08.00 to 17.00 Mondays to Fridays.
