Legal and Compliance Officer

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice on operational and strategic matters.
  


• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory obligations.
  


• Draft, review, and manage contracts, policies, and other legal documents.
  


• Manage relationships with regulators and external legal counsel.
  


• Conduct compliance audits and oversee risk mitigation strategies.
  


• Lead staff training on regulatory and compliance matters.
  

Requirements:

• LLB and must be called to the Nigerian Bar.
  


• Minimum of 2 years post-NYSC experience in legal and compliance roles.
  


• Experience in the microfinance or broader financial services industry preferred.
  


• In-depth understanding of CBN regulations, corporate law, and compliance frameworks.
  


• Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
  


• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., BL, ICSAN, CRCM, etc.) are an added advantage.
