Material Planner

General and Task Management

• Schedule the supply of materials and components to meet production requirements and maintain safety stock levels.
  




• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate processes for material delivery from suppliers to the point of use.
  




• Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions.
  




• Manage daily orders and monitor deliveries to ensure timely availability.
  




• Identify and mitigate risks that may impact the production schedule.
  




• Follow up on material shortages that may affect production timelines.
  




• Implement standardized processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  




• Use Material Requirements Planning systems (SAP and OMP) to maintain accurate data and resolve related issues.
  




• Monitor the integrity of the Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensure inventory accuracy.
  




• Track inventory levels against agreed targets and support periodic inventory checks.
  




• Minimize obsolete stock and reduce liabilities through efficient planning.
  




• Generate and share regular statistical reports and analyses.
  




• Support product Launches/Relaunches by ensuring timely delivery of Raw Materials (RM) and Packaging Materials (PM) while managing phase-outs of old products.
  




• Minimize write-off costs for Finished Goods (FG), RM, and PM.
  

Relationship Management

• Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to forecast and plan materials to ensure uninterrupted production.
  




• Communicate material delivery schedules and forecasts to suppliers.
  




• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  




• Support supplier assessments and sourcing with the procurement team.
  




• Attend supplier meetings and participate in negotiations to ensure supply commitments are met.
  




• Address supplier concerns and evaluate performance in coordination with purchasing.
  




• Resolve payment-related issues with suppliers and vendors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a science-related field.
  




• Professional certification in Supply Chain Management (an added advantage).
  




• 2–3 years of experience in production and materials planning.
  




• Proficient in SAP S/4HANA and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  




• Strong understanding of supply chain interdependencies and supplier dynamics.
  




• Fluent in English with effective written and verbal communication skills.
