Mechanical Technician - Belt Vulcanizer

Job Summary

The ideal candidate for the Mechanical Technician-Belt Vulcanizer role at Dangote Cement Plc is responsible for the repair and maintenance of conveyor belts. This involves inspecting belts for wear, Joints (Fastener / Vulcanizing), Skirts, Idlers, Scrapers and other issues.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Performing hot and cold vulcanization of conveyor belts of different types and Grades to ensure optimal performance.


• Material preparation: Marking, Splicing, Centering, Weaving and materials  preparation for vulcanization.


• Perform vulcanization of conveyor belts to ensure optimal performance.


• Inspection and maintenance of Vulcanizing Equipment.


• Document report findings, repairs made, and any repairs needed for the future.


• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.


• Collaborate with other maintenance technicians to address mechanical issues.


• Participate in training and safety meetings as required.

Requirements

• OND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline


• Minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience.


• Good practical and technical skills.


• An understanding of engineering drawings and principles.


• Communication skills.


• Good problem-solving skills.
