Job Objective: Our client is seeking to hire a highly skilled and result\-driven Media Buying Specialist with a strong background in performance marketing, and a solid understanding of brand and awareness campaigns. This role is hands\-on and execution\-focused.
The ideal candidate will plan, set up, manage, optimize, and report on paid media campaigns across multiple platforms. He/she must deeply understand how performance campaigns work, can interpret data beyond surface\-level metrics, and is able to propose strategic, data\-backed solutions when results are not meeting expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Performance Media Buying & Campaign Management
Plan, set up, and manage performance\-driven and campaigns across platforms including \-
Google Ads (Search, Display, YouTube)
Phoenix Browser
Opera Ads
Other relevant programmatic or mobile ad platforms
Own full campaign lifecycle: strategy, setup, execution, optimization, and reporting
Ensure campaigns are aligned with performance objectives such as conversions, CPA, ROAS, Installs, or leads.
Continuously monitor campaign performance and implement optimization strategies to improve results.
Optimization & Strategy
Demonstrate deep understanding of performance marketing levers: targeting, bidding strategies, creatives, placements, funnels, and conversation tracking.
Identify performance gaps and proactively recommend strategic adjustments (Creative changes, audience refinements, budget reallocation, platform shifts, etc.).
Troubleshoot underperforming campaigns and clearly articulate why performance is lagging and what needs to be done to improve outcomes.
Teat and scale winning strategies while controlling spend and efficiency.
Reporting & Insights
Prepare clear, accurate, and insightful performance reports on a regular basis.
Go beyond basic reporting by providing analysis, learnings, and recommendations.
Translate data into actionable insights that guide future media decisions.
Maintain dashboards and performance trackers where required.
Brand & Awareness Campaigns
Plan and execute brand and awareness campaigns with clear reach, frequency, and visibility objectives.
Understand how brand campaigns support long\-term performance goals.
Ensure brand campaigns are executed efficiently and measured with relevant KPIs.
Collaboration & Process
Work closely with internal strategy, creative, and account teams to ensure campaigns are executed effectively.
Provide input on creative performance and media\-led creative insights.
Maintain organized campaign structures, documentation, and media processes.
Requirements
Key Requirements:
Bachelorâs degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Business, or a related field.
2â5 years of hands\-on experience in media buying and performance marketing or digital advertising.
Proven experience managing performance campaigns with measurable results.
Strong proficiency in Google Ads and mobile/web ad platforms such as Phoenix and Opera.
Solid understanding of performance metrics, attribution, tracking, and optimization techniques.
Experience running both performance and brand/awareness campaigns.
Experience working with agencies or managing multiple campaigns/accounts simultaneously.
Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, tracking pixels, conversion APIs).
Experience working with African or emerging market audiences.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
High attention to detail and strong campaign management discipline.
Results\-oriented mindset with a strong grasp of performance marketing fundamentals.
Strategic thinker who can diagnose problems and propose effective solutions.
Confident decision\-maker with a clear understanding of media trade\-offs.
