Our client is seeking an experienced and passionate Montessori Directress/Director to lead a Montessori classroom and provide a nurturing, structured, and stimulating learning environment for children.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective operation of the classroom, implementation of Montessori principles and practices, supervision of junior staff, assessment of students’ progress, and maintaining positive relationships with parents.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Montessori classroom in line with Montessori philosophy and principles.
Prepare and maintain an organised, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
Plan and facilitate Montessori activities that support children’s academic, social, emotional, and practical-life development.
Observe, assess, and document students’ progress and developmental milestones.
Prepare regular student progress reports and maintain accurate classroom records.
Supervise, guide, and support classroom assistants and junior staff.
Maintain high standards of classroom management, discipline, safety, hygiene, and child welfare.
Communicate effectively with parents and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
Identify and appropriately escalate developmental, behavioral, or learning concerns.
Ensure classroom activities and practices comply with school policies and safeguarding standards.
Support school events, activities, and other programmes as required.
Promote a positive, respectful, and child-centered classroom culture.
Requirements
Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Social Sciences, Psychology, or a related field.
2+ years’ experience working as a Montessori Directress/Director in a practicing Montessori or preschool environment.
Montessori Diploma/Certificate from a recognized Montessori training institution.
Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy, principles, and classroom practice.
Proven experience managing a Montessori classroom and supervising junior staff.
Strong observation, documentation, classroom management, and communication skills.
Warm, patient, nurturing, and genuinely passionate about working with children.
Good knowledge of child safeguarding, health, safety, and welfare practices.
Ability to work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and school leadership.
Arts and crafts, practical-life activities, and other creative teaching skills are an advantage.
